    Come one, come all! Join us as we boogie down the aisles of your local moving picture house for the 6th Annual Meet-Up At The Movies. This year's special cinema event is a bona fide classic - the previously unreleased Grateful Dead concert from Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts on July 2, 1989. Catch the Dead in fine form, kicking off their summer tour to a sold-out crowd of more than 60,000 fans, and pulling out surprises at every turn - from the rare show-opener “Playing In The Band” to the only time they ever started a second set with “Friend Of The Devil.” The concert also includes a spectacular performance of “Wang Dang Doodle,” one of the band’s finest sing-along versions of “Tennessee Jed,” two Bob Dylan covers (“Queen Jane Approximately” and “Quinn The Eskimo”) along with a medley of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy” segued into the Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” Not to mention a sequence that will bring you back to the Dead circa 1973: "Truckin'"> "He's Gone"> "Eyes Of The World."

    And if that's not enough, we've got an exclusive interview with Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux on the making of the upcoming 12-disc July 1978: The Complete Recordings boxed set as well as previously unseen performance footage from Dead & Company.

    Hope this one gets an official video release, really would like to see it again. Had fun at the theater!

    A First
    I am lucky to have attended my first ever MUATM with my husband at my local theater which is only a few miles from home. In true Saint Louis fashion there were lots of Heads in attendance.(Saint Louis loves the Dead!) The Saint Louis metro area had 3 showings at different theaters. Pretty sure there was something in the air that night... It was good to see young and old and even infants at the show. I was never able to see Jerry live and I feel that was as close as I can get. The crowd was excited and cheered after every song. There was some chatter during drums but it happens. The Dead and Co clip was played afterward and kept everybody from leaving, they just stopped in place and listened...some who hadn't heard them yet were amazed at John's guitar skills. Always happy to have a local Dead event and I will attend this one for as many years as they have it. MUATM started the month and year my husband and I were married so it is that much more special to us. Keep on Truckin'

    Total Bust in Ocala, FL
    TWELVE PEOPLE?!!!!TWELVE?!!!!! It was a travesty. A couple of them didn't even know the songs and were just looking for drugs. There were smatterings of applause after each song, one big WHOOP after the opening PITB>Fingers>Wang-Dang, but nothing more. No room to really dance, so I wound up drumming on the chair in front of me (may have caused irreparable damage to the poor seat back, but...) It was just sad. BUT, I had a blast in spite of them. Good show. Thought the "To Lay Me Down" was a little weak. Mickey seemed a bit aggressive on the drums for such a slow ballad. Even Jerry seemed a bit perturbed by the inability to keep the beat on it. Loved how Bobby and Brent broke up when they tried a little dual vocal during the "He's Gone". Got a taste of Dead and Co. both before and after the show (which was cool). In all, a good show with a lousy audience around me to enjoy it. Let's hope next year is better. Maybe a bit more advertising beforehand. We'll see.
