Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1978, 1982, and 1984.
Our first stop this week is at the Philadelphia Spectrum, where we have the end of the show, featuring Truckin' > Black Peter> Sugar Magnolia, One More Saturday Night. As you likely know, Phil didn’t sing with the Grateful Dead between 1976 and 1984, although he did sing on Truckin’ at some shows during this era, and this is one of them. You can tell how much fun he’s having.
Next is the end of the second set from 4/14/82 in the upstate New York city of Glens Falls, where we have The Wheel > I Need A Miracle > Black Peter > Playing In The Band > Johnny B. Goode.
Lastly this week, from exactly two years after our previous selection, from a venue at which the Dead always seemed to play well, we have the end of the show from 4/14/84 at the Hampton Coliseum: Morning Dew> Throwing Stones > One More Saturday Night, Baby Blue.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
