Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1984, and 1986, with three versions of The Other One, one of the longest tenured songs in the band’s repertoire, present consistently from 1967 to 1995.
Our first stop this week is at Purdue University in Lafayette, IN, on 4/18/69 where we have this unique and excellent sequence of Cryptical Envelopment > Drums > The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment> Sittin' On Top Of The World > King Bee.
Next up is music from Rochester, NY, where the Dead always seemed to play well, on 4/16/84, with the end of the show: Space > The Other One > Stella Blue > Around And Around> Johnny B. Goode, Day Job.
Lastly this week is the entire second set from 4/19/86 at the Berkeley Community Theatre, where we have Crazy Fingers>Playing In The Band>Drums> Space> The Other One> China Doll> Playing In The Band> Sugar Magnolia.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
