All black

Sometimes when I log in, the whole section under "dead community" on the left is all black, and sometimes I can see "All recent posts, Member map, Members, Who's online" etc. Does anybody else have this phenomena? Does anybody know why it happens?

Would probably help if people read through the posts in the sections about technical problems BEFORE they post new complaints. If problem has already been brought up, then would be kinder NOT to be repetitive and post, or if the person absolutely can't help themselves, then to say something very mild like: "XYZ problem, ditto" or "me too". izzie and Marye have said they will keep us informed on fixes and updates, and they WILL. They are doing a great job, with a monumental task, and no need to stress them with the s.o.s. over and over.

Here's a question for members

...shall we go, you and I while we can... This place has been here for six weeks or so and I'm seeing the complaints outweighing the compliments about two to one . Izzie and Marye got tossed into a definite work in progress. They were honest about that from day one. Look, If the Grateful Dead experienced that much negativity at the beginning when things didn't work right, the music was sloppy, the venue sucked,, we wouldn't be hear today, 'cause the band would have called it quits. The initial scene thrived on what was going right and how to build on it.Let's try that here. See 'cause how many times do people need to hear that the store isn't fully connected with the site, that opening new topics isn't gonna happen in the forums,etc. There's a lot of arch tone and unnecessary sarcasm that's well, frankly juvenile. Wheather it was Watkins Glen Or the Berkely Community center, Woodstock or Anchorage, Alaska, I always saw the faithful in the audience adapt to the situation with the same smile, ,cause they knew something great was about to happen. The same thing can be true here. After all, what do we really want, lindley Meadows or Altamont??? Give it some thought,and sure if you got a gripe, you can always express it in a pleasent manner. Be sure to say something nice along the way as well, it will come back to you.

Marye,my pictures were up and working fine for days/weeks, now they won't show when trying to enlarge, when I click on yours the same happens, others work fine...I don't know what changed....Lake

The fan photos are moderated, so they're not immediately accessible when you upload them. (This is mostly to head off such things as the uploading of, say, Jim Marshall's photos by people other than Jim Marshall.) If the problem persists, we're dealing with something else, so speak up... Thanks!

I'd like to know why the support for the store is MIA. Has anyone else had this issue? I purchased the American Beauty 50th so I could have the 2/18/71 show. The FLAC download has a corrupted cutoff GDTRFB and it's missing the NFA Pt. 2 and Uncle John's. I've reached out to support but they are MIA. Any ideas how to get ahold of them?

getting permission for the title and cover of my book about GD

Hello, I'm sorry if this is off your topic but maybe you can help. I have written a nice book about the music from the early Brent Mydland years of the Grateful Dead, about 400 pages. I want to get permission to use a certain image on the cover, and to use a certain lyric for the title. Do you happen to know who I should be in touch with about this project? Uncle John's Band (additional verses)

Many years ago I found 2 more verses and a bridge/chorus(?) posted online for Uncle John's Band. The source was alleged to be an acoustic set Jerry did at a small club (The Matrix?).
One verse starts with: "Why wait in the dark for dawn when the sun's still going down?"
Another starts with: "Would you carry me uphill, back the way I carried you?"
I don't want to post the full verses since I can't vouch for their authenticity.

Has anyone ever heard recordings of these verses? Any more info on them?

And I’m also very happy that you were able to meet and fill the great relationship with your biological father, something we were never allowed to do because that was a bad man within my mother died while I was in college, both of them very young and unexpectedly so many different. I hope you don’t mind, but I need to see if you have a source that could help me both my husband and I were born with congenital birth defect, mine left me permanently, disabled at only 34. Then hurricane Sandy was it a direct hit to us as a full strength, hurricane, and we were not allowed to live in our home for eight years a week after that we were diagnosed with hereditary autoimmune diseases and our doctors this time absolutely forbid us from going back to work outside the home as we have no immune system. For the last 14 years, we’ve both been struggling very hard at our small office assistance or badly struggling due to all this. We are in foreclosure on our home. I am not writing this to ask you for a handout but just for source or sources. I have an idea about a book card like to write about the Grateful Dead and I need someone who can help me find the sources and even corroborate Either as a co-author or anything that they would like to be called. I hope and pray you see this message and you can point me in the right direction so we don’t lose our home that my husband spent eight years in his blood.
