hinky spanish problems

Am having all sorts of weird things happening here on my Spanish computer( besides my own problems adjusting to new keyboard) am using explorer here/pc. Have pages loading with funny vertical lines, and all kinds of mean nasty ugly things that am too tired to remember what they all were right now. Will update as problems occur. Suspect that might be as simple as slower internet connection than was used to, but am not absolutely sure yet********************************** Don't part with your illusions. just what you needed!

So sorry for the added aggravation. It does sound like a slow connection or some such may be part of the problem, but please keep us posted, thanks!

Slow internet

Seems to be the problem, as this morning is working better. Will see what happens later in the day.********************************** Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you have ceased to live. Samuel Clemens

Phil Part II

I'm getting the dreaded "Blue Smurf" search message, when I attempt to access this page. FYI. The Dude Abides!

heathafeathaa

Please let us know if the problem persists. part of what you're seeing sounds like the duplicate post and spam filter problems, which are well known at this point. Quite often someone will get no response when they hit Post, so they keep banging, resulting in multiple posts. Sometimes they all end up in the spam filter, resulting in no posts till Iz or I go in and clean up the mess, i.e. publish one of the dupes and nuke the rest.

GRTUD

is this still happening for you?

Yes, sorry

Yes, marye, it is still a problem. I get "node 10923" in the "Enter Search" box when the default page pops up. Sorry for hassle and thanks for the prompt reply. The Dude Abides!

Notes from the Phil tour: Part II -> "Page Not Found"

I'm getting the same results, specifically: "The page you requested does not exist. For your convenience, a search was performed using the query node 10923." and Keywords "node 10923" in the search box.... "Music is Love"

blue smurf

So when do we get to read about the further adventures of Phil??

unable to access phil/jackie/set-list story

It is totally inexcusable that the featured article off of this website's home page has been offline for over 24 hours. If you can't even do this right then why even bother? Typical Rhino. You guys / gals just do not get it. Don't bother fixing it on my account - I don't care anymore.

if people are still having trouble with the Phil story

please holler. Word is the story was not properly published and now is, but if there are still problems speak up!

heathaafeathaa...

you're welcome! sorry for all the aggravation.

was it offline?

was the whole site actually offline/down earlier (about 24 hours ago) or was I unable to see everything because of 'heavy traffic' like the apology page said?

as I understand it...

it wasn't just this site, it was a server meltdown further up the corporate food chain. And yeah, down. For extended periods. I haven't heard any reports since it was up. Whether heavy traffic was a contributing factor, I can't say; there certainly WAS heavier traffic the last few days since the Road Trip announcements, but what else was going on I dunno. Anyway, fingers crossed for a bit more stability.

can't post

I was trying to post this in the positive vibes area a few times, it kept giving me a message about the proxyserver... something or other. if it makes it here--first time I ever saw that message; please move it. thankx and peace. more positive vibes on the way, dude. if you feel like getting into more specifics, please don't feel we will read it as whining or complaining. all of us have had troubles in life, and that is what the 'loveful' community here is all about. cosmicbadger said it better, we are hear to listen and help with vibes and if you want to tell us more, we'll listen sympathetically. reach out more, if you think it will help. love and peace.

cover art for dicks picks series...

I am rather amazed at the incomplete "cover art" supporting dicks picks if downloaded.please get this right! we are paying customers when we download and the notes and covers should be considered part of the package. do you guys give a rip? i'm looking for the "later ones" including 35, 32, 36 etc. where are they??? -Gary Desilet

as I understand it...

The Rhino folks are aware of this issue and working on it. Which is not as good as having it all fixed right now, but is reason for hope at least.

Howdy!!

Just an idea to make navigating the forum part of the website easier and faster. On the right side there is the number indicating how many posts there are for the topic and under that number there is the number of new posts since the last time the viewer looked at that topic. Would it be possible to make it that when someone clicks on the new post number that it takes the viewer to the oldest of the new posts instead of the first page of posts? This would make a big difference in time saving! Thanks so much for all the great work so far to u and the others who have made such a lovely site! Cheers, Jody Are you kind?

we've been asking for that

from the beginning, as believe me we share your pain. So far no go, but let's just say it is sure on the wish list.

trying

trying to post, getting this message... Gateway Timeout The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server. Reference #1.84c7bcdb.1194748518.df957ab

of course...

pf course that one posted right away, but I couldn't post into the false alarm thread. same thing happened last week with the message for positive vibes. weird.

"Currently Listening To" (problems)

I can't post to this thread and probably added several redundant attempts to the spam folder in attempting (sorry 'bout that). No big deal just fyi.

can't post...

GRTUD - don't know why it caught your posts, but it did. I've got on published now and nuked the others.

Thanks Izzie

might help

what I just figured out, which might help, is if I Preview Comment first, and then post it, it went right through without a hitch. I will see if it works again with this post -- which with the way life is going, it probably won't. ever optimistic, I will give it a go.

it worked

well, Preview Comment is working and getting the posts through straightaway... others who have trouble posting might wanna try that, too. peace

Post In Forums

I continue to get a message at the top of the page whenever I surf the forums. Not Allowed to Post New Topic In Forums. Wondering how come, and can't seem to find any help topic on it.

cub42....

There are no user-created forums here on Dead.Net. I don't know why you'd be seeing that message unless you were trying to create a new forum. (I'll log in from my user account and see if I see that message...) If there's a forum/topic you'd like created, please let me or MaryE know, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request!

Posting

Ms Izzie, thanks for your reply. Maybe I just misunderstood the New part. I read it as I could not post in a forum at all. My post in this one seemed to work so maybe its ok. I just was confused by that mssg at top everytime I went to a forum. Thanks, Kurt

account

hallo,i have a little problem.when i open my account then i see in the messages colum only the words block message.other accounts have a second button saying send private message.does this mean that other people cannot reach me or does the block message button appear only if i click to my own site?thanks for your help frankly

This is for Mayre's Post in

the Jerry Forum. the stuttering problem is no big deal, atleast I have a place where I can comment on things that I find interesting. For some strange reason my non-dead listening people, don't seem to find these subjects so engaging! PEACE

frankly

I'm about to send you a PM. If you don't get it, post here and we'll figure out something else. I want to get a clearer sense of what we're dealing with before I bring in the tech wizards. Thanks!

frankly again!

I just went and looked at my own page and it has the same thing. I'll still send you a PM, but in case anyone else is wondering also, I think this is what's going on: On someone else's page, you can either send them a message or block messages from them. That's what the two links are for. Now I just checked on my own page, and, as makes perfect sense, there's no link to send messages to myself. On the other hand the Block Messages link is for blocking messages from myself, which does seem a little silly. I will seek technical enlightenment on this point. Thanks!

Re: Mary

hallo mary, the same thing was going through my mind.i believe your conclusion is right...but i wanted to be sure.thanks and have a nice day

ghost in the machine

this electronic stuff has some weird powers, could not join the deadnet at any cost.first some weird alien was grinning at me and than google said that they never heard of something like the deadnet......but at least the shop was working,so i could order myself a cup for the tea,to calm down......peace and understanding(to PCs too!!)P.S.but what happened anyway,if its explainable.thanks

Shows attended

In the Archive tab, find the show you're looking for and/or scroll through Shows By Year. On the show's page, there's a little purple Mark As Attended link. Click it and join everyone else who was at that show...

Deadshow

Since you're able to post elsewhere just fine and others are posting at a great rate in that thread, this is a puzzling development. I would say try it again and see if the problem persists. If it does, send me a PM.

Problem with Blues For Allah: The Angels Share - iTtunes store

The first track, Crazy Fingers (Instrumental) [4/2/75 Rehearsal], cuts off after about a minute but the track is 6 minutes 13 seconds long. I contacted the iTunes store and received no response. When I play it at the store, the same issue occurs, Can this be fixed? Tried downloading again, nothing works.

Early Dave's Picks Issues

I've been subscribing to each year of the Dave's Picks releases. Recently I have discovered that the early releases (Vol 1 through 4 so far) are no longer playing in any of my CD players. Just today disc 2 of Vol 2 gives me a "Disc err." This is so far the only one that does not even recognize there are tracks.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but has anyone else had this problem? Is there any hope of digital releases like the Dick's picks on nugs? I'm getting bummed about not being able to hear these early releases any more.
