same as above

done, but errors on page. i just went to sveral different web sites and i do not get that messege on any other web site ? confused yet again ...

offhand, stuman...

I'd say it sounds like one of those temporary insanity on the system's part kind of deals, but if the problem persists, speak up. The only time I see that message is on another site (one of my clients') for which I have to run Windows in Virtual PC on a Mac, and, yup, Internet Explorer. I'm not seeing it in Firefox. But on the other hand, it's not that uncommon for the system to behave a little oddly in terms of pages loading, usually because something in the great technological food chain is restarting or something. Like I say, if this keeps happening, speak up.

Forums

I just joined the site a few days ago and I want to post a message in the Forums, but when I try to I get: Announcement: You are not allowed to post a new forum topic. What's the deal ????

It's true

Only moderators, which is for the moment me, can start new topics. This is largely a matter of chaos management. If the comment you want to post fits in one of the existing forum topic (as in this case), feel free to post it. If you're not finding anything addressing the issue you want to post about, send me a PM and if it seems like something people will want to talk about, I'll start a topic. Hope this helps!

Moderation

I am still getting the refered to moderator error message i have stopped posting mostly now, can't hack it Bob - - - - - - - - - - - - - - http://spanishsunshinedaydream.blogspot.com/ http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=633338979 Spanish Jam

Bob...

I am SO sorry about this. I don't know what's going on. I've reported the problem to Jonathan. Meanwhile, I'm just making it a practice to check the spam queue first thing when I log in to turn your posts loose. I think it's likely that the urls in your sig are setting it off, but it should have learned its lesson by nw and it just hasn't. Assorted site fixes are coming real soon now and I hope they will make this problem a thing of the past, but I'm not a tech. I'm really sorry I can't just fix this.

Bob

That was happening to me too!!

Hey Bob

We MISS you around here. Don't give up now, I'm sure the tech people will fix you right up. Whatcha been makin for dinner? How's the tile coming along?? PEACE

can someone get my cal expo

can someone get my cal expo 92 post out of the spam filter & post it in the forum? It was a big post & I didn't keep a copy - and all I got was "your message has been queued for reveiw by the administrators" - or whatever it says. I've had this problem intermittently - all day yesterday - then it cleared up for a while & now it's back again. I can't post - I don't even expect this one to go through.

There it is again

sorry eric

I've reported this problem and turned your posts loose.

constantly being logged off,

constantly being logged off, posts not showing up, pages not opening, being logged on several times, ect.

yeah

let's just say the server transition was not as smooth as one would wish. Jonathan is on it. Thanks and sorry.

Log on strangeness

Here's something: I was logged on earlier for awhile, then logged off. I happened to look back in a little later and my screenname still showed up in "Who's online", but I must not have been actually logged on because all the "my dead.net" options didn't appear and the "post new comment" area didn't show up when I clicked into any of the forums. When I did log on again (to type this, and to make sure I logged off this time) my screenname only showed up once, so that's an improvement. Nothing serious, just odd. Thanks, MitD ((searching for a cool sigfile))

no problems here

I can`t spend a lot of time on here and i don`t really use the chat room either,,,, when my eye`s allow me to see to be here ,,i have no problems at all ..(windows xp)

Mark

or anyone else--if you continue to have the multi-login problem, please speak up. We think it's fixed, but life is full of surprises... Thanks!

password problems

OK so now I have logged on with the one time password and then put in my own password. BUT, it won't let me logon to the store with my new password. And if I logoff I can no longer get back on. I'm at work now so I have to go. we are using microsoft xp and the firefox brouser. I would really like to buy the Egypt package. Any help?

Andy

if it helps, you need to register separately for the store...no idea why!

just a heads up

459 log in's this morning at 6:22, 454 are deadhead hawkeye's.

I registered sucessfully

I registered sucessfully today, but i get a message saying i'm not allowed to post in the forums. What's the fix?

Cannot post

I just registered today, but i get a message stating i cannot post in the forums. What is the fix for this?

Well Robert

you just did. Twice. What the message means is that you can't start new threads. If you have a request for a thread you'd like to see, send a PM to marye. Otherwise, feel free to contribute to any of the existing threads you choose. And welcome aboard! Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

Sorry, didn't mean to post twice.

Yes, i realize i posted twice. The first time i typed in my comment and forgot to enter the subject header and sent the message before i realized my mistake. So i posted again. Have to blame my ADHD on that.! Anyway, i can post here, i just can't post a new topic in any of the forums. But i will use your suggestion and contact the moderator Regards, Bob.

It's not just you, robert22...

*Nobody* is allowed to start a new topic. Only the moderators, marye and izzie, can do that. They are goddesses, and have the power! ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

I capiche now!

Well i'm an idiot. I thought it meant i couldn't post yet. Some forum websites will not allow you to post for awhile if you just registered, until you are approved by the site. I eventually figured out it meant i couldn't create a new topic heading, that it was already pre-determined. Thanks.

robert! welcome!

as you see, you're posting just fine and the fine locals have done their usual stellar job of explaining the deal. Well, except for the goddess part. If you want to start a topic and we don't already have something like it--hey, it happens!--just send me a PM and we'll figure it out. Glad you're here. Make yourself at home.

I dunno, Clarke's Third Law:

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" - you have control over technology I can't understand, therefore it's magic, therefore you're a goddess. Q. E. D. Hi, wierdness again

ded hed jed login's - 208 and counting, kinda strange.

Oh I`m not the only one

for a minute I thought i was seeing things !! that is strange !!

logins?

how can you tell how many times someone has logged in?

you can just look over to

you can just look over to who's online, and it shows the # of users, which is login's and the # of guests which is just visitors, not logged in. Ded Hed Jed is now hitting the 470 loggin mark and climbing, hope something doesn't crash. Just wanted to give marye and jonathon a heads up. No stuman you are not seeing things, pretty spooky.

Look's like Jonathan is

Look's like Jonathan is around! Look's like close to 900 now! ps- sorry Jonathan for misspelling your name way too many times!

Nice work!! Jonathan saves

Nice work!! Jonathan saves the day again! Thank you.

User/password issues

I successfully updated my password and successfully logged into the main site. Like most, I suspect, I'm waiting for the presale and understand that my account must be active in order to get tix. However, when I click the link for ticket info and then click the link at the top of the page ("my account"), I login w/ my working user ID and password and get a message that it is invalid. I've tried logging out of the main site and back in to try this again and still have the same issue. Is it because the presale hasn't begun? I'm concerned that it won't let me login to the actula tix site when the time comes. Thx in advance.

Piewill

You need to create another ID on the ticket sale site. Not the same as your ID here. Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

Shows attended

In the Archive tab, find the show you're looking for and/or scroll through Shows By Year. On the show's page, there's a little purple Mark As Attended link. Click it and join everyone else who was at that show...

Deadshow

Since you're able to post elsewhere just fine and others are posting at a great rate in that thread, this is a puzzling development. I would say try it again and see if the problem persists. If it does, send me a PM.

Problem with Blues For Allah: The Angels Share - iTtunes store

The first track, Crazy Fingers (Instrumental) [4/2/75 Rehearsal], cuts off after about a minute but the track is 6 minutes 13 seconds long. I contacted the iTunes store and received no response. When I play it at the store, the same issue occurs, Can this be fixed? Tried downloading again, nothing works.

Early Dave's Picks Issues

I've been subscribing to each year of the Dave's Picks releases. Recently I have discovered that the early releases (Vol 1 through 4 so far) are no longer playing in any of my CD players. Just today disc 2 of Vol 2 gives me a "Disc err." This is so far the only one that does not even recognize there are tracks.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but has anyone else had this problem? Is there any hope of digital releases like the Dick's picks on nugs? I'm getting bummed about not being able to hear these early releases any more.
