    Art project

I have an idea for an art project and I am wondering where is the best place to ask for tape covers with hand written set lists and / or cool drawings that aren't being used. I would 100% pay for shipping.

    Rock on!

I think that ship has sailed
It was always frowned on to sell the tapes, to put it no more strongly. However, Jerry's been gone these 25 years, and a lot of once-precious tape collections, by inheritance or general attrition, have ended up in the hands of people who aren't in Deadhead culture and can't reasonably be expected to operate based on it. I'm more startled that she found someone to pay money for it, given how often Heads are offering up their tapes for free after they've gone digital, and on this very site too.

    Is there a policy against…

Is there a policy against selling tapes? I have seen a couple of collections show up on CL and this week there is an extensive collection in an estate sale in Massachusetts.
I contacted the CL person and asked them not to sell but to offer up as free. They were nice and had some rosy BS to say about her parents giving her the tapes but she didnt want any more and was selling them. Alas, she did.
Being of the trading era i think its wrong to sell them and there may be an official dead policy or a place to report?

    Shows (CDs) available

I suggest that you get hooked up with a bit torrent client. This will allow you to download shows from bit torrent sites, such as bt.etree.org.

You can contact me at cb.bandrofcheck@comcast.net and I will guide you through the process of setting up.

    Tapes

    Hello,

I would be very grateful and blessed if you still have some of the 2000+ tapes you mentioned. I can help with shipping and handling. I own a few shows, but no actual tapes yet.

This would mean a lot to me. My name is Jeremiah and I am from upstate NY.

I look forward to speaking with you and seeing if you even have one or two, to help me start my tape journey :)

    Thank You - With Love,

    Jeremiah

Hi there. Does anyone have the show info for the 30 downloads from LAST year? I've only recently figured out how to change the notes on the songs in my iTunes and want to be able to notate my songs with the correct locations and dates. Thank you very much!!! Sorry, a little poking and I found the link. Thanks anyway.

Yes - I'm still in love with analog and would love to see my small tape collection grow. Please send me a message before you throw your tapes out or put them on Craigslist. I will gladly pay for packaging and postage to get them from where you are here to sunny LA. Gotta keep that Nakamichi spinning! Thank you!

I've got a few Ratdog gigs I can throw your way. A double show from July 1st and 2nd at Humphrey's by the Bay 2008 and a show from Negril, Jamaica 1-31-10 and all 3 are awesome. The Humphrey's weekender also has Gov't Mule sets to go with it as they were the opener. I can omit those if you would like but send me a message and let me know if you would like them!

What a remarkable show last night...full of pleasant surprises and those AH HA moments that only a live performance can bring...with everyone in their best and most supportive Dead vibe! So of course i'd LOVE a copy of the entire show...even if it contains that long moment while we were waiting for bruce's monitors to be adjusted...and finally Bob picked up his amp and twisted it around so it would point to bruce and the keys. pm me at dylanland at yahoo dot com if you can help out. thanks, and peace. ken ps, someone also sat on disc three of my cornell show a couple months ago...if any can help. i can B&P or trade, primarily Dylan.

I have 5 reel to reels that I'll send to you if you reply to WCrum01@gmail.com.No.1 appears to be a tape of the show released as One From the Vault. The list on the back includes Dark Star so there is clearly more besides that show. And some tunes from the Vault show are not listed, so ... 8-13-75 is written inside the box. No. 2 is labeled Golden Gate Park/SNACK/GAMH and appears to be the other 3 shows from 75. This may be the first place I heard the SNACK set. No.3 is labeled 4/29/11971 but the list on the back and a piece of paper inside says 6/19/76 & refers to WNEW, so it may have been taped off the radio. The tape itself a Maxell is wrapped in plastic and labeled Side III & Side IV. No. 4 has lists for 'Closing Night at Fillmore East 4/71', Universal Amphitheater, July 1, 1973, for 2/14/70, and for 1/1/1973. No. 5 is labeled 4/14/72 and 6/23/74. You want them, they're yours. Send me an address.

deahead87, I am just starting out with my exposure to the Tapers scene. I ran across another collection (50 tapes lovingly annotated; '65 through '95) at a Goodwil store. They didn't know what it was and almost gave it to us. Now that I have the fever... are you giving these away? Let me know, with metta, DE

I think you're looking for 7/29/94, not 95. No Buckeye Lake in '95 at all, and a version of Traffic did open on 7/29/94. So if that's the show you're thinking of, here it is! Here she comes through Archive goin' clickety-click. She said stream or download, you can take your pick. You couldn't go wrong with 8/6/71 and Cornell 77. You could throw a dart at a bunch of good quality dates from 73. At least three from the Europe 72 tour. One thing I would caution though. Go for 5 star quality complete or almost complete shows. You will be more satisfied in the end. In my older age I know I hate fragments or poor-sounding quality. Just one head's opinion. If nine more answer I'm sure you'll get nine more opinions...

My favorite eras are Jan-April '69, Spring and Fall '72 (but you should definitely pick up 8/27/72), Oct-Dec '73, anything from '77 (most people probably prefer the Spring but I like the Fall too) and Jan-Feb '78 (I might be alone thinking this tour of California, the one off in Oregon, and 6 shows in the Midwest is great). After that, the consistency goes down, though I still like fall '79, Fall '83, Fall '89 and Spring '90. Good luck!

Yes, I realize this might be an outdated offer as there are many ways to download music these days, AND hoping someone out there might appreciate receiving these crispy DAT's... You will find below the list of 46 Dead and half dozen JGB on DAT that I am offering. If you want these, need not do more than send along your information including a valid US UPS address so I can ship them out to you. Of course, once you get them if you discover that some of these shows might be ones others would appreciate, then feel free to pass them on in whatever way inspires you... You can email me directly at antonio@SoundingSpirit.com with your response. Hey all. I'm looking to expand my collection. I only have a couple dozen shows but now I am looking for many many more. Any information to help me get started would be appreciated as I am not really sure where to begin. Love it all but I am a HUGE early 70's fan. Thanks and can't wait to get collecting!
