    Because it's been a while.
Weird how the OG stuff sounds so different after however many live versions since I've played this. Operator should have been kept. Only 4 times live?
    Cheers

Back at ya TCC! And thanks for waking one of my favorite Uncle Pete memories
After my folks house was sold, my uncle would let us stay at his house so we could visit Pops etc. Often for Pops Bday, including a gathering of Pops, my Uncle (in his 80s then), and my even older uncle John who’s bday was close to pops. Usually we’d coordinate so some of my DH cousins would come home too. One night we were up late hanging in the kitchen swilling beer, reminiscing, and listening to tunes on a little wifi speaker. Uncle P comes in and El Paso is playing. Uncle says “hey, I know that song” can ya play Marty Robbins etc, so my cousin does, then he starts asking for Dwayne Eddie and other artists of the time. He even had a beer with us! And he was fascinated by the ability to call up almost any song in an instant, so started really getting into it!
It was so much fun, and he really knew the good stuff, not just what was popular.
When we played related Dead covers, at some point he cracked that “yeah, that Garcia fellows pretty good, almost as good as Dwayne lol A great night to be sure.
So thanks for jogging that memory TCC!

Anniversary show 6/8/75 El Camino Park. Palo Alto

56 years ago I was up in Palo Alto for a very cool show with the Jerry Garcia Band, Kingfish, and the Rowan Brothers. El Camino Park is a small little park , this was a really cool scene.

I am sorry for your loss Oro, and have been quiet about it as it hits so close to home. My uncle was of a similar ilk, old school (2nd gen Italian), tough but loving and lived his life to the fullest.... when our family would visit his in CA, he'd wake up the house to Marty Robbins' El Paso Sunday mornings for church .... as an adult, I played a Dead version and asked him what he thought .... he said "Sound like they had too much coffee" (must have ben a later version). As my own died in my teenage years, my uncle was my surrogate father and like you, will miss him forever. Again, my condolences........tcc

Thanks to all you nice Folks for the kind, heartfelt words etc!
My uncle was almost 91, had relatively few issues.
One day in the hospital then poof. We should all be so lucky!
He was old school kinda tuff conservative (lifestyle not politically) MP in the army, a high school teacher for over thirty years, but somehow ended up with five huge Dead Heads lol The family blames me ; )

Jim had been Ill, so a relief, and not a huge surprise, but as you all know, it still always catches you off guard. At least he’s not suffering anymore…outta the fog indeed ; )
So sweet there is always such great support here from such kind DHs, no matter who’s hurting or why! Kudos to you all!

From the PD app. Good stuff for a hot day on the south shore or Lake Erie.
I wonder if this Sept. run was in contention for a box set.
And you’re right Deadvikes. The River box smokes!

From the great LTTR box. Kind of felt this box doesn't get a lot of love. The three 72 shows are top tier and 10/19/72 is hitting the spot today.

Let's get that box announcement out soon.
