Was listening to these two shows. Dave's 54, Dave's 21. The first one just bc it needed more listening and the second bc I thought, "hey, same tour, and that was the first show I ever got when I subbed to the DP series, and it's been a minute..."

33 years ago I was up in Oakland for a cool show with the Good old Grateful Dead . Crazy Fingers, Dark Star, SOTM, and a Rain encore. Fun Times.

44 years ago I was up at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds for a benefit show with the Good old Grateful Dead. The show started with Mickey Hart and Mere Saunders . Then the Dead minus Brent backed Joan Baez for an acoustic set. The Dead came back out for a killer electric set. The show was held in Fiesta Hall , a very small venue. A great warm-up for 81 Oakland December shows.

Hey fellow heads,…I just got my copy of this great book (was kickstarter) yesterday and you really should check it out. About a thousand copies left and available to general public now. Bill took photos at Alpine Valley in late 80s in parking lot and has taken new photos of the same subjects now. David Gans interviewed them and wrote great words between the images. I’ve got no financial interest in this, just sharing a really cool thing.

Re : Your tour 0f '78.
When I 1st got that July box the 7-3 show from St. Paul was the sleeper surprise one for some reason. Don't remember much at this point about Omaha but KC was a raging good time. I need to do that box again soon.
