Dick's #4. I had forgotten how awesome this release is. All the chatter inspired me to revisit it after way too long.

Really nice 6 cd set. Have listened to this one a lot. It’s got a lightness and cheerfulness as do so many JGB shows of the time, with the usual fun covers.

Jerry always sounds so happy and upbeat in these recordings
and seems to be really enjoying playing.

Great release! Always makes me happy to listen to anyway! Have the cover art print framed in my home!

Download Series, Volume 12. Good stuff.
Proudfoot, I think Peace Frog is my favorite Doors tune. Great album.

One of the best. Regarding listening to shows on their anniversary, by the tine I realise what date it is, it's usually tomorrow.

I also listened to the stand alone release from 4/18/70 yesterday at The Family Dog. Almost all acoustic, apart from Jerry playing electric on a few songs. Very low key. Quite strange at the end, when Pigpen sings about 6 Lightning Hopkins songs, solo, without the rest of the band, who appear to have left the stage to make way for him. Makes him come across like someone who wasn't actually in the band.

And for this Friday the 13th and valentine's day, I played Dick's Vol 4. What a release!

    splitting with ffmpeg

I use ffmpeg to split files. It's unbelievably versatile, works on just about any file format, can trim from any location in a file to any other location, etc etc. But it's not exactly user-friendly. There's no "interface", you have to type stuff in at a command line. If you're ok with this it's the best tool I've ever seen for the purpose. It can cut from the beginning, middle, end, in any increment/duration you want. I've used it repeatedly to make custom playlists fit onto an 80min CD when the original image was like 81min and 10 seconds... just snip a bit of crowd noise here and there until it's <80 min and can burn without issue.
