Good call on the PNW box. The Believe It If You Need It complilation is on you toob music. Didn't bring CD's because rentals no longer offer them. They do have adaptive cruise control, which kinda evens it out.

Love the PNW box, goes well with....Olympic National Park! My favorite national park, and I've been to 43 so far, so trust me, it's a damn fine park. The best way I ever heard it described.....my daughter and I were backpacking a 3 day loop (High Divide/7 Lakes Basin) and on the trip got to know a couple from Colorado and we would meet up at stops etc. The woman one time was like "I just can't believe the hiking, it's like being in a giant garden or something" and I thought, that's perfect, it is like being in a giant garden. My daughter and I eventually completed 7 backpacks in Olympic before she moved to Vermont. Don't miss Ruby Beach, Lake Crescent, and The Ho'h, hehehe, The Ho'h!

....arrived safely at Port Angeles. First time we've been on a ferry and Bainbridge Island is as small town Americana as it gets. Beautiful.
I might overdose on the color green here. Quick rest, couple of local IPA's, then up to Hurricane Ridge we go!

Disc 2 with that pairing of Scarlet>Fire, Estimated>Eyes one right after the other as touted in the sales pitch of the new RGM vinyl release which I passed on. Keeping my powder dry for something coming up in the future. Now if it had been a '70s show on vinyl I likely would have pulled the trigger.

Vguy, a buddy of mine was a trail crew leader in Olympic N.P. and said that some of the fallen trees were so big around that they would cut an arched walkway though them to keep the trails open. Sounds like Paul Bunyon to me.

Brian Eno also contributed to ex Hawkwind vocalist Bob Calvert 's solo albums Captain Lockheed and The Starfighters and Lucky Leif and The Longships The latter was the first album he produced , apparently. Captain Lockheed is the one though.
Both albums featured Paul Rudolph, who's band, the Pink Fairies played paint peeling versions of Tomorrow Never Knows live 1970-1971.

Great concert here in Lowestoft last night by jazz guitarists Jim Mullen and Nigel Price. Any ambulant Deadheads living in Britain could do a lot worse than check them out if they play locally.

Short Answer: Tomorrow Never Knows. CORRECT!

Both Bands,(GD and 801 a.k.a. The 801), covered a song written by The Beatles, found on their Revolver Album. 801 Live version - played during a live show in London (IMHO that must be included in a Top 3 list of Best Covers of All Time, if not the #1 version.). Skeptics should listen to it and most will agree.

As for the Dead, they covered it 12 times, all during 1992 - 1994. Personal note: In the "there is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert" category, I was lucky enough to wind up sitting 8th Row Center for one of the 12 times played: 9/20/93 MSG. A show that included a rare double-encore (Baba OReily into TNK) and also had Edie Brickell as a special guest for the 2nd Set! If I didn't know better, what I heard was a song that felt like it was specifically written for the Dead.

A shout out to Colin G, who seems to have an envious eclectic taste in music.
Was blown away by your recent comment to my ENO post that named 4 of Eno's solo albums. King's Lead Hat is AMAZING, a favorite mine from first time ever hearing it. The tie in with the Talking Heads info, reminded me of Number 9, Number 9 /
Paul Is Dead / and the Walrus was Paul. Coincidentally these 3 well known references all came about from The Beatles. Another piece of trivia I never knew and just found was where they got the name 801 from: A song found of one of those 4 ENO solos album that includes a catchy melody found in a Chorus Refrain of The True Wheel, Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy: We are The 801, we are the central shaft.
