Joined:Archive WorkAnd... then nightly I'm transferring my cassette recordings of the Dead concerts digitally to be added to my collection of live recordings on the Archive. I'm working with Mr. Miller's team to add them to the Archive. I spend an hour a night transferring music. Three nights and a show is ready to go. Just search Wiseman in the Dead Collection. I recommend the Seattle 80 show.
Recently transferred and listened to:
BCT 3/10, 12,13/85
Irvine Meadows 4/13,14/85
Frost 4/27,28/85
Greek 6/16/85 (first Cryptical since '72!)It's a fun project and not too demanding at an hour a night.
Love you guys,

Joined:Catching up part deux: ETR boxThen there's the ETR box. I was out of town when it arrived, and have been busy and out of town a lot lately. Just scratching the surface of this majestic box. So I listened to the shows I attended first, Red Rocks, Frost, Oakland Auditorium. Was there a complaint about the matrix mix on the Frost? It did sound a little muddy. Now listening to Hampton 81, sounds good. What fun to work through this box.

1/14/67 a little ruff, short, but cool jams!
1/27/67 cool set, but audio takes a little getting used to, especially the speed issues
2/12/67 short and sweet Pig roast
3/18/67 good show, ok audio, previously enjoyed vis Doc POTD, worth a Relisten
4/1/67 radio interview where the boys choice songs to play - daverock

Also the sound of the underground as was - a stunning remix of Hawkwind's self titled debut album. I don't think I've ever heard a cd remaster/remix improve upon the original album as much as this one does. Magical. Also included in this mini box are some live recordings from 1970, which have come out before but which also now sound better than they have done before. - Crow Told Me
Joined:Where's Betty? As near as I can tell, Betty is still alive and reasonably well and doing sound for the choir at Glide Memorial Church in SF. (Before that she was doing some recordings for Chris Robinson's group, which released some of them as part of a series they called Betty's Blend. Or something like that.) If she's not well, I've got to believe this would be being talked about in the various online forums, and since google didn't turn up anything, I'm going to assume she's OK.
Anyway ...
Just listening the to 3.16.73 show from ETR. Ho hum, just another mind blowing show from that spring. Very cool Dark Star: mellow and drifting for long stretches but also dissonant and braincell roasting at times. And a real goddamn good Dew. That box set is a gift that keeps on giving.
